Sprung beech, multi-court
The classic sprung timber hall, marked for several sports in different colours on one floor.
Sports surfacing & line marking
The court, the hall, the studio. We mark, lay and maintain proper sports surfaces for basketball, netball, tennis, badminton and more, to the standards that schools, clubs and leisure centres need.

Sports hall flooring is a specialism most London flooring firms simply don't offer. A sports floor has to do more than look the part: it needs the right grip so players don't slip, the right give to protect joints and cushion landings, and accurate, durable line markings so games can be played safely and to the rules. The two qualities that matter most are how the surface absorbs shock and how it returns energy, and these are tuned through the build-up rather than the top layer alone.
The right system depends on the sports and the space. A sprung timber hall floor is area-elastic, flexing over a wider area to spread the load, and is a classic choice for multi-use halls. A cushioned vinyl surface is point-elastic and hard-wearing, well suited to busy school and leisure-centre halls. A poured polyurethane court gives a harder, faster, seamless finish for dedicated court sports. We specify the build-up and finish around the activities the space will host and how heavily it will be used.
We supply, lay and line-mark sports halls and courts for basketball, netball, tennis, badminton, indoor football and more, marking out several sports on one floor in different colours where needed. We also sand, reseal and re-mark tired surfaces to bring grip and appearance back without a full replacement. The whole job is managed under one written quote, with no surprises, and timed around term dates and fixtures so the space is ready when it's needed.

How it works
Common questions
For halls hosting several different activities, an area-elastic system such as a sprung timber floor or a cushioned vinyl surface is usually the best fit, because it gives consistent shock absorption across a wide area for sports, PE and assemblies alike. Where a harder, faster surface is wanted for specific court sports, a poured polyurethane finish may suit better. We recommend the build-up based on the sports you will host and how the space is shared.
They describe how a sports floor deflects underfoot. A point-elastic floor cushions mainly at the spot where the load lands, which suits surfaces like cushioned vinyl. An area-elastic floor, such as a sprung timber system, flexes over a wider area to spread the load. Both reduce impact on joints and improve comfort and safety; the right balance depends on the sports played, which is part of how we specify the floor.
Yes. We line-mark courts for basketball, netball, tennis, badminton, indoor football and more, and can set out multiple sports on a single hall floor using different colours so each game reads clearly. Markings are applied accurately and sealed to wear well under heavy use, and we can re-mark existing floors where the lines have faded.
Often, yes. Many timber and synthetic sports floors can be sanded, resealed and re-marked to restore grip, appearance and play, which is quicker and more cost-effective than a full replacement. We assess the existing surface on site and advise honestly whether refurbishment or a new floor is the better option, and we time the work around term dates and fixtures.
